From May 25 to 28 the annual conference of the BC Historical Federation, Chilliwack: Land, Water, People, takes place in the Fraser Valley city.
Celebrated educator Gwen Point, chancellor of the University of the Fraser Valley, gives the keynote. Workshops include former Heritage Fairs coordinator, Jane Watt, on Fraser River Flood History. Participants can also enjoy a Fraser and Harrison River boat tour, walking tours of Chilliwack and the Stó:lō Grounds, and a hops and beer tasting tour.
On Friday night the University of the Fraser Valley Theatre department’s screens a film of Grand Theft Terra Firma: Stories of (Re)conciliation. Saturday night’s gala features the presentation of the BCHF awards.
