Alumni Program

Involvement in the Alumni team allows students the opportunity to remain active in the Heritage Fair community beyond participating in the regional or provincial fairs.

There are currently 24 spaces in the program for students across the province, split between the Junior and Senior Councils. These students meet once a month via conference call to discuss Heritage Fair related topics and issues and to work on projects which connect them to their peers and the greater heritage community. You can learn more about our 2019 project here. The Alumni Program is lead by Rachel (Program Manager), Keilin (Senior Council Coordinator), and Vedanshi (Junior Council Coordinator). We also have spaces for Program Members to contribute to the blog or social media, but not get involved in the Councils.

Where & When

In order to participate in this program, you can email our leadership team at alumni (at) bcheritagefairs (dot) ca, or keep a lookout for the application forms that are usually released in September.

Eligibility

An Alumnus can be anyone who presented at a Regional or Provincial Fair (or Regional Fair if space allows, with the recommendation of their Regional Coordinator), who has a passion for learning, and is engaged by Canada’s history. If a student has already attended a Provincial Fair or has aged out of the competition bracket, but would like to remain involved, they are encouraged to join their Regional Alumni Council, or apply to be on the Provincial Alumni Council.
